Developed as a core tangible output of the ReBirth project, the illustrated Trilingual Sewing Dictionary serves as an innovative, non-formal adult education resource designed to bridge the gap between environmental sustainability and social inclusion. Aligned with the initial project application's objective to explore ways of upskilling and gather best practices in textile reuse, this tool was specifically created to dismantle communication barriers in multilingual environments. Main target groups are socially vulnerable learners, including unemployed women, seniors, people with migration backgrounds. The dictionary’s methodological framework applies a visual-first pedagogy, using direct illustrations alongside key terminology in Portuguese, English, and German, structurally divided into targeted modules like sewing tools, patterns and stitches.
The project “Re:birth – Sustainable Future of Textile Consumption through Empowerment of Women” ( 2024-1-DE02-KA210-ADU-000251653 ) is implemented by Kulturlabor Trial & Error e. V (Germany), in collaboration with Assotiation CAISA (Portugal), co-funded by the European Union 🇪🇺 ERASMUS+ KA2 in Adult Education, supported by NA BIBB.
